Fermented-food diet increases microbiome diversity and lowers inflammation, study finds

In what they describe as a âradicalâ finding, researchers have claimed that fermented foods play a larger role than previously thought in eliminating unhealthy bacteria in the gut that lead to cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart conditions and chronic pain. The findings also suggest that increased fibre intake alone over a short time period is insufficient to increase microbiota diversity.
