‘A period of non-alignment between the UK nations’ - Scotland’s DRS and the Internal Market Act

Last week, the Scottish government announced that its Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) would be delayed until March 2024, having originally been planned for an August 2023 release. One of the reasons for this is the fact that it will be in breach of the Internal Market Act 2020, which prevents regulations from discriminating between goods and services based on their location within the UK.
